Community Emergency Plan

PETERS MARLAND EMERGENCY PLAN

Under normal circumstances, major emergencies will be dealt with by the emergency services, local authorities, utilities and voluntary agencies in a combined response. This Plan is not intended to be a substitute for these services.

The aim of the Plan is to increase the short-term resilience of the community in the event of an extreme event where conditions arise that might prevent the emergency services from reaching the scene within a reasonable time, thereby posing a high level of risk to members of the community. In addition, the Plan is to cover situations, such as a pandemic, where there is a need for community support at a local level.
